The ever-popular Dear Zoo in yet another innovative format which ensures that this favourite story keeps fresh and popular. * Parents in Touch *
In Dear Zoo Spin and Say the fun element are two spinners which can be used to help teach simple concepts, first words, numbers, different types of animals etc . . . It was a fun book to share. * www.meanboyfriend.com *
This book has been a big hit ... I think this book is a must for anyone who loves Dear Zoo and Rod Campbell. * www.mummyoftwo.com *
One of little man's first book was Dear Zoo, a bestseller that has delighted generations of toddlers, I had to read it for him nearly every night for a few months. He still likes Dear Zoo, so he was happy to see the new Dear Zoo Spin and Say. * Lilinha Angel's World *
Both of my children are still massive Dear Zoo fans... This new spin and say version really engaged Millie, she will happily sit and 'read' it to herself or bring it over to us to read together. The fact that she gets to spin, therefore effectively letting her choose what she wants to land on and talk about, has really kept it interesting for her. * One Blue One Pink *
The images are delightful and we think children would enjoy the spinners. * Made for Mums *
The Dear Zoo Spin and Say book has so much educational potential including number, colour and animal recognition that I can see it being a book that we continue to read time and time again . . . a beautifully illustrated book which aids learning and encourages parent/toddler interaction which I think is brilliant. * Monsters Fun House *
WHAT THE PARENT THOUGHT:
The text and illustrations are still charming, and the book encourages children to interact with them, as well as perhaps prompting the reader to think a little more of pets and animals away from the book.
We have hundreds of books that we read in the pre-reader era, but I don't recall one that featured a spinner so well. Whether it is you turning the spinner to ask the child a question, or the child turning the spinner to answer another or ask one of their own, it works terrifically.
WHAT THE TEACHER THOUGHT
If you are familiar with Dear Zoo, which quite frankly who isn't, then you'll understand and be intrigued by this book straight away. The dials give it a certain something extra, another way to get a child to engage with concepts and learning words enjoyably...The use of repetition in the book is great, as are the opportunities it gives children to learn about practising alliteration and rhyming words.

My children adore Dear Zoo and this is a great twist on the original. Both children loved the spinners and the toddler really enjoyed guessing his favourite animals from the pictures. The book is great for helping Little Sis learn her numbers and Big Brother adds more animals to his repertoire! * treadingonlego.com *
The book is perfect for teaching simple concepts, first words, numbers and colours to toddlers and pre-schoolers. the sturdy pages are packed with everyone's favourite animal friends from Dear Zoo, as well as new wild animals and pets, and there's a different question on every spread. How many? Who's the animal? What colour? Simply spin the wheel, point and say! * Attachment Mummy *
