Grenada Spice Paradise by Roger Brathwaite
Grenada is a virtual microcosm of everything the Caribbean is, was and should be. Secluded beaches, pristine tropical jungles, warm turquoise-hued seas and deep volcanic crater lakes rarely ever come together in one location. In addition there is the history and the magical scents and flavours of exotic spices. In this portrait comprising over 128 specially commissioned colour photographs, Roger Brathwaite takes his camera to the heart of the island to capture the wonder, beauty and mystery of this island that the Carib natives, the French, the British, and more recently the Americans, fought to control. It is an exploration of the sometimes tragic history of the island of Greneda, its pulse of daily life and its people.
