The Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe Summary

The Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe by Russell Punter

A story based on the classic nursery rhyme for beginner readers ready to tackle slightly more complicated storylines and sentence structures. It's no fun living in a shoe when you have as many children as this old woman. She needs to find a bigger home - and fast. Part of the Usborne Reading Programme developed with reading experts at the University of Roehampton. Includes several pages of reading-related puzzles.

The Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe Reviews

This charming retelling of the classic nursery rhyme retains the rhyming text and incorporates children from a variety of cultures. The simplistic illustrations by Joelle Dreidemy also work very effectively to support the flow of the story. A set of puzzles at the end of the book adds an interactive element that deepens the children's learning and makes this a splendid example of the Usborne First Reading series. * Leicestershire County Council recommended Key Stage 1 Fiction Books *
