Helpful Henry by Ruth Brown
An enthusiastic little boy tries to be helpful, but only at Nursery School are his fumbling attempts appreciated. Henry really tries to help his mother round the house but his efforts always end in anarchy. He has a go at cleaning the whole bathroom, even polishing the mirror, but: "with Dad's face cloth!" cries Mum!" And he kindly paints a whole room (even the door handle!) blue: "What a mess." sighs Dad." But then Mum takes him to school for his first day, and the teacher is astonished at all the wonderful assistance she gets in cleaning up! "He was so helpful!" she says.
