Summary
Sir Manuel Carmargue, one of the greatest flautists of his time is dead. Everything points to misadventure and Chief Inspector Wexford likes nothing better than an open-and-shut case, but one or two niggling doubts remain. The author won a Gold Dagger Award for "A Fatal Inversion".
