About Sabu Thomas (Vice-chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India)

Professor Sabu Thomas is currently the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University and Director of the School of Energy Materials. He is also a full professor of Polymer Science and Engineering at the School of Chemical Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India, and the Founder Director and Professor of the International and Interuniversity Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Prof. Thomas has received international acclaim for his work in Nanoscience, Polymer Science and Engineering, Polymer Nanocomposites, Elastomers, Polymer Blends, Interpenetrating Polymer Networks, Polymer Membranes, Green Composites and Nanocomposites, Nanomedicine and Green Nanotechnology. Dr. Nandakumar Kalarikkal is an Associate Professor at the School of Pure and Applied Physics and Joint Director of the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. His research activities involve applications of nanostructured materials, laser plasma, and phase transitions. He is the recipient of research fellowships and associateships from prestigious government organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of the Government of India. He has active collaborations with national and international scientific institutions in India, South Africa, Slovenia, Canada, France, Germany, Malaysia, Australia, and the United States. He has more than 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He also co-edited nine books of scientific interest and co-authored many book chapters. Ann Rose Abraham, PhD, is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, Kochi, Kerala, India. Dr. Abraham received M.Sc., M.Phil. and PhD degrees in Physics from the School of Pure and Applied Physics, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. Her PhD thesis was on the Development of Hybrid Multiferroic Materials for Tailored Applications. She is an expert in the fields of condensed matter physics, nanomagnetism, multiferroics, and polymeric nanocomposites. She has had research experience at various reputed national institutes such as Bose Institute, Kolkata, India, SAHA Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, India, and UGC-DAE CSR Centre, Kolkata, India and collaborations with various international laboratories. She is the recipient of a Young Researcher award in the area of physics, and Best Paper Awardse2020 and 2021, a prestigious forum to showcase intellectual capability. She served as assistant professor and examiner at the Department of Basic Sciences, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala, India. Dr. Abraham is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. She has authored many book chapters and edited seven books with Taylor and Francis and Elsevier. She has a good number of publications to her credit in many peer-reviewed, high-impact journals of international repute, such as 'ACS Journal of Physical Chemistry', 'RSC Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics', and 'New Journal of Chemistry'.
