The Cat in Photography by Sally Eauclaire
In this portfolio of 100 images, the author follows the footsteps from early daguerrotypes into the vision of the leading artists of our century. She brings together the Parisian cats of Cartier-Bresson and Kertesz, Weegee's street-wise cats, Edward Weston's cats, as well as provocative contemporary cats. It also includes cats in humourous and other works by anonymous artists. In a companion essay, the author explores the relationship of cat to camera.
