Summary
Edwin Carpenter is a young man living in Chelsea during the 1950s and 60s. He has run away from a brutal father and is in the grip of a terrible compulsion. He steals, obsessively, without any interest in financial gain but with the help of his lover, Mark, he struggles to cure himself.
