About Sheelagh Drudy

Sheelagh Drudy Ph.D. lectures in the Department of Education, St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. Previously she lectured in sociology in the Dublin Institute of Technology and she has taught in second-level schools. Her current work involves pre-service teacher education as well as college and school-based in-service education with teachers. She has published numerous papers on the sociology of education in Irish and international journals. Kathleen Lynch Ph.D. is co-ordinator of the Equality Studies Centre at University College Dublin, where she is also a member of the Education Department. Among her recent published works are 'The Hidden Curriculum' (1989) and 'The Problem of Women Teachers in Technical and Vocational Education in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia' (1990). She is also co-editor, with Sheelagh Drudy, of 'Ireland: A Sociological Profile' (1986).
