Challenge: Upper-intermediate by Simon Haines
This is the students' book for the upper intermediate part of the two-level Challenge language course that also has an intermediate level. The course is topic-based, with particular emphasis on oral fluency, pronounciation and vocabulary. The reading and listening texts are of manageable length and level of difficulty. There is a choice of how to approach the grammar, either inductively or deductively. Realistic activities provide the practice students require to develop their communication skills. The book also includes a language review that explains and summarizes the grammar of the unit. The upper intermediate part of the course also contains a structured writing syllabus which is suitable for students preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate examination, and an extra vocabulary section in the language review. The course also comprises of a teacher's book, a work book and two cassettes.
