Core Paediatrics: A problem-solving approach by Steven Ryan
Core Paediatrics introduces undergraduates to paediatrics via the case-based problem-oriented approach rather than the traditional pathological topic-based approach to reflect the growing number of problem-based courses.
Core Paediatrics has been designed principally with the new curriculum in mind, taking into account that most courses now use problem or case-based teaching to a lesser or greater extent. The book is structured according to different stages of child development - from the neonate through infant, toddler and primary school age, to the adolescent. Under each section a series of cases highlight common problems at community level, acute presentations and chronic disorders. All core areas are covered, either directly as a case history or under 'differential diagnoses'.
