Street-Chic Jewellery by Susie Johns
From chic and stylish to quirky and urban, here is a totally fun collection of 30 jewellery projects. Author Susie Johns has sorted through her trinkets box to use buttons, charms, shells and favourite beads to make an imaginative assortment of brooches, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and chokers. There's the 'Hidden Message' necklace for example, in which rolled fragments of text hang off silver head pins which alternate with beaded safety pins. Or the kilt pin used as the base for pearl buttons and lucky charms; the bought plastic bangles which have been personalized with decoupage motifs and the little neck purse made with scraps of crochet and embellished with applique and beadwork - to give a taste of the amazing variety of Susie's ideas.
None of these terrific pieces will take very much time to make and none require huge levels of skill or patience - they're quick and satisfying to make and great fun to wear.
