New Theories of Welfare Summary

New Theories of Welfare by T. Fitzpatrick

Clearly structured to enable students to make theoretical connections between apparently diverse areas, it provides an invaluable synthesis of the most important theoretical innovations in the discipline in recent years. Comprehensive, engaging and authoritative, New Theories of Welfare will appeal to all those interested in social and public policy, politics, sociology and philosophy.

New Theories of Welfare Reviews

'Many social policy courses do contain 'theory' modules at levels 2 or 3, and this would be a useful book to support such learning. The potential market for a student text in this area is real. We would be likely to use it here, at least as a secondary text, on one or two of our modules. There is also genuine scope for an international market given the breadth of coverage and the relevance of these debates to policy developments in other advanced countries. Tony Fitzpatrick is a leading authority in the field and should be a good person to produce such a text.' - Professor Pete Alcock, University of Birmingham, UK.
