If you think that cards have to consist of a piece of card folded in half with a picture on the front then think again; cards can actually do things! This slim volume shows you how to make cards with tabs to pull, sections to slide apart, with hinges, pop up centers and more.
If you make your own cards then it is a god idea to make them as special and unique as possible, and there are some fun ideas in here. This is a book aimed at the more experienced card maker, who knows how to use their equipment and is ready to acquire some new ways of using it. Each chapter contains projects for different ways to make cards that can be grouped under headings such as hinge, swing, sliders, waterfall etc and the projects are by various different artists which makes for a nice mix in styles. The all contain some staged diagrams as well as written instructions and a large picture of the finished item. Materials are listed and are specific in many cases, so crafters outside the US might not be able to obtain all of them but any crafter worth their salt will be able to find substitutes; no equipment is used that is only available inside the States. There are cards for Christmas, Halloween, birthdays for all ages, get well soon, party invitations and many very general cards that can have a variety of different messages inside. The instructions are not too hard to follow for anybody used to cardmaking and the results are a lot of fun.
