This book looks at all issues that are relevant to the Year 2 teacher. It contains a chapter for each of the curriculum subject areas - English, maths, science, history, geography, D&T, music, art, RE, PE and IT. It also highlights planning and organisational issues and PSE. Each subject chapter includes: guidelines on what teachers can expect from the majority of their pupils in each subject in the way of skills and knowledge; definition of key terms for the majority of reception children giving a sound basis for progression; practical teaching ideas to cover the key area and to help achieve expectations; and guidance on assessment.
