The book gives an argued answer to the question of what conservatism as an ideology and as political practice really comes to, mainly in Britain and America, and considers its moral defensibility. This book argues that conservatism is the politics of desert, as politics of the left is the politics of equality. It considers both traditional conservatism, from Burke, and the new right.
