Exploring Scotland's Islands Reviews

Few people know the Scottish islands as well as Terry Marsh. In this new book, he distils his 50-plus years of exploration into a stunningly-illustrated travelogue, illuminated by his personal experiences. * Roly Smith *
Terry Marsh has poured decades of explorations into this thought-provoking, island-adoring, south-making whistle-stop from Shetland and Orkney to Arran and Bute by way of the Outer and Inner Hebrides. Every breathless step of the way, he brings to bear a thoughtful mind and an acutely appreciative eye. This is Barra: every shade of blue, every temperament, every infinitesimal gradation of blue imaginable from the borders with green to the fringes of indigo If you know the islands well this book will kindle a hundred potent memories. If you dont, it will kindle a hundred urges to go there and make your own memories; and it might just induce you to question why you have stayed away so long. * Jim Crumley, author of Seasons of Storm and Wonder *
