Them Vernon is a writer, actor, and academic. After training in Chicago, he went on to act in various Hollywood productions, including The Fugitive,Seinfeld, and General Hospital. He teaches screenwriting at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies and privately atWriters' Circle TO. He recently appeared inSaving Hope, Murdoch Mysteries, Killjoysand elsewhere. Vernon is a Vanier doctoral candidate in English-Creative Writing at the University of New Brunswick. His most recent publications include the novelThe Drifts(Coach House, 2010). An advocate for under-served youth & adults, he co-foundedArts Expand, a Los Angeles-based arts education initiative.He contributes to blogs, including American Refugee, Notes on Arts Educations, Words Matter, and Huffington Post. He moved from the States to Toronto as a queer refugee with his partner, Vajdon.
