Sigmund Freud once courted the favour of Austrian writer and satirist, Karl Kraus, and failed to obtain it. Kraus's favourite themes were the power of language, its abuse by psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, and journalists, and the catastrophic consequences of this abuse.
