CLP Fast Track: Lotus Notes/Domino 5 System Administration by Tony Aveyard

CLP Fast Track: Lotus Notes/Domino 5 System Administration is marketed toward the many professionals who work daily with the Lotus Notes and Domino products and are familiar with their intricacies. These professionals are seeking their certification as a means to provide their knowledge, improve their earning power and build their career profile. The Fast Track series provides the best way for more-advanced candidates to learn how to pass the highly anticipated Lotus certification exam upgrades. Lotus has restricted the exam process so that all three required exams are geared directly toward skills that an administrator will need to use. Written in partnership with Lotus, New Riders' Fast Track title provide references directly to Lotus courseware. This allows them to be truly used in conjunction with instructor-lead courses.

About Tony Aveyard

Tony Aveyard lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife Kathi, daughter Marie, and son Garet. The other two family members are a dog, Tango, and Randi, an attack cat. He has been actively involved in the IT industry for twenty years and has been a Domino Administrator for the past five years. In real life he works for Entex in Mason, Ohio, as a Senior Intranet/Internet System Engineer, but his secret ambition in life is to be a full-time fiction writer. FPS computer games are a serious passion, and he thinks that Raven Software is the greatest computer game development company in the world.

Karen Fishwick is currently employed at Farlink Communications Ltd., a small consulting and services organization based in Ottawa, Canada. As a Principal CLP and CLI, Karen has been providing training and consulting services in the Notes/Domino arena for over five years. She has been involved in various administration and development initiatives for many Ottawa-based clients and has trained hundreds of students all across Canada. When she's not working, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and her twin babies.

Jay Forlini started working with computers at IBM while finishing his business degree at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. He has been involved with Lotus Notes in some fashion for more than seven years. He began as a Level 1 instructor in 1993 and he often assisted with administration and development projects when he was not in the classroom. He has been certified as an administrator for versions R3, R4, and R5. He is also the lead author for Lotus Notes and Domino 4.5 Professional Reference, New Riders. For the past two years, he has been working with Equifax, Inc. as Director of Systems and Development. Karl Wabst is an independent consultant specializing in network computing. He has, over the last 11 years, worked with Notes & Domino, Windows NT, AIX, OS/2, and Novell as a network architect, administrator, and applications developer. During that time, Karl has participated in large-scale commercial projects with IBM, Lotus Consulting, Bell Labs, and AT&T. Karl has also worked on the architecture and administration of several large corporate Notes/Domino projects, including Hyundai Motor Corp. in South Korea, Wesley Jessen in the U.K., and SmithKline Beecham in PA.

After several years working on Wall Street in corporate finance, it became apparent that there was a great need for fast, accurate information flow between companies. As a result, Karl became involved with network computing as a NetWare & Notes administrator. Seeing the need for people with both technical and business acumen, Karl founded Eagle Mountain Computing, Inc. in 1997. Since then, he spends most of his time searching the Internet for new opportunities and turning those into real-life adventures.

This is Karl's third professional writing endeavor. He contributed to New Riders' recent Domino System Administration as well Que's Special Edition Using Lotus Notes 4. He currently resides in Fort Worth, TX. Karl can be reached at [email protected].
