A pop-culture powerhouse of a poet. As comfortable in front of a camera as he is behind it, Tyrone is a full time video editor. He says words to people sometimes. Tyrone Lewis is the first ever Roundhouse Poet and a Roundhouse Slam Champion (2010). Tyrone has been involved with a number of major national poetry events, including working with Apples and Snakes for Word Cup (2010), Shake The Dust (2012) and Shot From The Lip (2015). Tyrone has also been a Barbican Young Poet and was one of the founding members of the collective Burn After Reading. He's also been commissioned to write and perform for Orchestra For All and Channel 4, as well as performing on BBC Radio. Tyrone has performed his poetry across the UK, including headlining nights in Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as his home city, London. Tyrone has also performed at a number of festivals including Bestival, Greenbelt and Nozstock. Away from poetry, Tyrone is a full time video editor. Over the past few years Tyrone has used the skills he picked up from filmmaking and photography to work on documenting the spoken word scene his own one-man-band production company Process Productions. Through that, he's been able to showcase a large amount of the scene via both Process' YouTube channel and social media presence. Tyrone has become known across the UK not only for his writing and performance but also his work behind a camera.
