It features interviews with 20 achieving women, all with three or more children, married for at least 25 years, with full-time careers. The women include Elizabeth Longford, Mary Warnock, Fay Weldon, Shirley Hughes, Margaret Forster, Druscilla Beyfus and Mavis Nicholson. In hardback the book was greeted with praise: "Excellent" - Katherine Whitehorn; "totally fascinating" - Antonia Fraser. Valerie Grove was a well-known journalist and feature writer with the "Evening Standard" and is now a regular columnist with "The Sunday Times".
