This edition of Words Of Life takes the theme of homecoming. From the cradle to the cross, Jesus was on a journey - going home. Although born into a refugee family, from a young age he knew who he was, to whom he belonged and where he was going. 'I came from the Father - I am going to the Father,' he said (John 17). His mission while on earth was to make the way to the Father known. As we journey with Jessu towards Jerusalem during this Lent and Easter period, we discover that we too are on a journey towards home. Our Easter journey takes us through the book of Ruth, the letter of James, further chapters in the Gospel of Mark, Psalms, the subject of prayer and the Beatitudes. Dr James Read, Executive Director of The Salvation Army Ethics Centre in Canada, grapples with some of the ethical issues that Jesus faced.
