Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Half-title and frontispiece pages are loose, almost detached. Remaining binding is firm. Pen inscription to front free end-paper. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is darkened. Sunning to spine. Spine joints worn.
