1822. No edition remarks. 240 pages. Bound by Zaehnsdorf in red leather with gilt lettering to spine; gilt tooled turn-ins and marbled endpapers. Five raised spine bands. Gilt upper text block edge. Rough cut pages with deckled edges. Contains 21 colour illustrated plates, including frontis. 12 page publisher's catalogue to rear. Pages are mildly tanned with visible foxing. Heavy cracking to gutters. P.13 and plate are detached but still present. Several other sections loose. p15 notably creased. Occasional very minor marginalia. Previous owner's inscription to reverse of both endpapers, and half title page. Slight tape repair to lower front joint. Mild repairs to gutters throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Mild scratching and marking to boards. Heavy sunning to lower areas of both boards. Books has a slight backward lean. Boards mildly warped. Very small paint spots to front. Several other mild marks.
