1946. First Edition Thus. 235 pages. No dust jacket. Orange cloth with gilt lettering. Contains colour illustrated frontispiece, with other plates throughout. Shaky binding due to cracked front hinge, but all pages remain attached. Pages and plates remain bright and clear. Mild marking to some pages throughout; text is not obscured. Deckled edges. Inscription and stamp to front endpapers. Boards have heavy shelf-wear, with visible corner bumping and noticeable scuffing to edges. Spine and edges are moderately sunned, with noticeable crushing and slight splitting to ends. Light rubbing and scuffing overall, with visible marking also. Gilt remains bright.
