À propos de Alan Sillitoe

Alan Sillitoe left school at fourteen to work in various factories until becoming an air traffic control assistant. He started writing after four years in the RAF. In 1958 his novel Saturday Night and Sunday Morning won the Hawthornden Prize for literature and it was later made into a film, along with The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. He has written 28 other works of fiction (his most recent novel was Birthday, the bestselling sequel to Saturday Night), an autobiography, poetry, plays and children's fiction.
