The Coming Storm Résumé

The Coming Storm Greg Mosse

The hotly-anticipated sequel to 2022 Sunday Times Thriller of the Year The Coming Darkness sees the return of hero Alexandre Lamarque. He may have prevented the world from falling into ruin, but Alex knows his work is not done yet. There's still a controlling intelligence out there, pulling together the strands of a new and even more destructive conspiracy. Battling with personal tragedy on one hand, and the intrusion of new-found celebrity on the other, Alex must re-emerge from self-imposed exile to reuinite with Mariam - the woman he loves - and Amaury - his truest friend - to face the fight of their lives. From the streets of Paris, the lithium mines of southern Mali, and the mighty Aswan Dam, they come up against forces whose intentions are as devious as they are malign. Time is against them, and there's more at stake than ever.

The Coming Storm Avis

Praise for Greg Mosse and The Coming Darkness; "A clever, fast-paced thriller with incredible world building [and] a cinematic narrative style waiting to be adapted for the screen." - The Independent; "Equally good at derring-do and dialogue... Mosse displays admirable audacity. [The Coming Darkness is] one of the best thrillers of 2022." - The Sunday Times; "Fast and absorbing, action-packed and loaded with atmosphere... This is ambitious and inventive storytelling." - Crime Fiction Lover; "Absorbing and intricately plotted." - The Telegraph; "A heart-thumping race against time." - Saga Magazine; "This is exactly the sort of big, meaty, ambitious thriller that the market needs. I haven't read a book like this since I AM PILGRIM." - Anthony Horowitz; "Superb - there's an ominous drumbeat throughout, and pace and tension, and a subtle and scarily plausible dystopia - and above all there's main character Alex Lamarque... one of the greats. Greg Mosse writes like John Le Carre's hip grandson." - Lee Child; "'It was easy to lie convincingly when there was no truth to conceal'. One of many sobering sentences in this finely-crafted, complex thriller. An utterly satisfying story set in a forensically detailed dystopic future which is too close for comfort." - Lesley Thompson
