A fat quarter is a piece of fabric measuring 18 x 22 inches. The cut is popular with quilters-but you can make a lot more than quilts from fat quarters. The projects in this book demonstrate the versatility of these humble rectangles of fabric, showing ways to mix and match favorite prints to create a number of lively designs ideal for gifts-or for selfish sewing. The projects are sorted into six different themes (baby and kids, bags, quilts and pillows, home decor, wearables, and give and use), and each theme contains a variety of large and small projects with a fat-quarter focus. A variety of techniques are represented, including hand embroidery and fusible applique. Most of the projects are simple enough for beginners. Each project clearly states how many fat quarters are needed. The quantities range from one (for smaller projects) to 30-plus (for lap quilts). . . . this one is a hit.
