Lost (PB) Résumé

Lost (PB) Nicky Arend

Imagine being blindfolded, taken to a remote unknown destination and abandoned...This is the quandary of the contestants of the Channel 4 series, "Lost!". They could be dropped in a remote jungle, desert, ice cap or mountain range and their mission is to get home as quickly as possible - but there are a few obstacles to overcome. Each team has only $50.00 so they have to rely on their wit and bargaining skills to engage the good will of the locals to help them get home. They have just three days of army rations, and two complete strangers (one's a cameraman who records the action but doesn't take part) as companions. As if things couldn't get any worse, they're also racing against two other teams dropped at the same spot who are determined to get to the finish point - Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square - before the others, and they're not above sabotage...Tying into a 15 x 30-minute prime-time series, "Lost" follows four heats where three teams of two compete to get back to London from the same drop in the fastest time. The winners of each heat then compete in a grand final for the prize money. With exclusive access to behind-the-scenes material and contestants' diary extracts, the book relates the highs and lows of the on-the-road adventures encountered by each team, including the nail-biting occasions when they had to switch the cameras off.
