The first major study in English of one of theatre's most important innovators, thinkers and directors For over forty years Tadashi Suzuki has been a unique and vital force in both Japanese and Western theatre, creating and directing many internationally acclaimed productions (often at the Toga International Festival, which he founded in 1982), including his most famous production, The Trojan Women, which toured throughout the world. An integral part of his work has been the development and teaching of his rigorous and, for some, controversial training system, the Suzuki Method, whose principles have also been highly influential in modern theatre.

À propos de Paul Allain

Dr Paul Allain is Senior Lecturer in Drama at the University of Kent. He took his doctorate at Golds miths, trained with the Gardzienice Theatre Association, has studied the Suzuki Method, and has work ed on numerous productions as Movement Director, including Ghosts and Henry VI Part 3 at the Royal S hakespeare and Rutherford and Son at the National. He was Modern Drama Lecturer at Brunel University College 1993-1997 and Lecturer in Drama at Goldsmiths 1997-2000.
