Family Law Protocol is the Law Society's definitive guide to best practice with which all solicitors practising family law in England and Wales should comply. Written in a clear, accessible style and appended by other relevant guidance, the Protocol offers practical advice to encourage effective and timely resolution of disputes. The Protocol was written by the Law Society's Family Law Committee with the active support and close involvement of the Lord Chancellor's Department, the Solicitors' Family Law Association and the Legal Services Commission. Consultation was also undertaken to ensure that the views of practitioners and other interested parties were taken into account.
